Please join me on Zoom for a virtual talk about my book (based on this blog) “Gobsmacked! The British Invasion of American English.”
It’s set for 7 PM Eastern Daylight Time in the U.S., which would mean a late night for U.K. readers–11 PM, if my calculations are right.
It’s free but registration is required.
Hope to see you there!

Oops. Tried to coment and couldn’t log in.
Thought at first the time was wrong. Hadn’t realised that daylight saving in the US starts this weekend. The UK still follows the EU and doesn’t change for three weeks.
Still 23:00 is still too late for me.
Eleven o’clock at night? Ooh, dearie me no. Far, far too late. I shall be snug beneath my eiderdown dreaming of warm beer and crumpets. 🙂
Will there be a YouTube or recording available so that those of us who escape to our beds before or about that time can still enjoy the talk?
Yes, David and Jayne, I will post a link.
I’m afraid I’ll have to miss it, as I’m now in a country that is six hours later than EDT. Will there be a link to look at it later?
Pity, I missed it. Must look in more often. Looking forward to the recording.
